RYA Yachtmaster Offshore practical course by OffshoreScotland Yachtmaster Offshore Preparation Course The OffshoreScotland Yachtmaster Offshore Practical Course is perfect to prepare a candidate for the Yachtmaster exam to gain their MCA accredited certificate. This certificate can be commercially endorsed and recognised worldwide in the marine industry. Candidates should feel confident when dealing with demanding situations as well as just simply plain sailing. The course is designed around client needs and focuses on bringing students up to speed on specific skills necessary to pass their Yachtmaster exam which for many is a well-deserved pinnacle of personal sailing achievement. OffshoreScotland is an RYA recognised sea school at Largs, on the west coast of Scotland. As well as providing a range of RYA sail cruising courses at our training centre, we also offer milebuilding passages, skippered charter and bareboat charter using our yacht Esperanza. Each Yachtmaster and skipper at OffshoreScotland is RYA qualified and fully certificated to teach the Yachtmaster Offshore syllabus in a practical but fun way and also provide a wealth of knowledge of Scottish inshore and offshore waters. Yachtmaster Offshore Course Details
- duration: 5 days
- pre-requisites: navigation to coastal skipper / yachtmaster shore based standard. sailing to coastal skipper practical standard. 2500 nautical miles, 50 days on board, 5 as skipper including 5 passages over 60nm and 2 overnight. Additionally, a marine radio operators certificate (VHF or DSC) and a current first aid certificate. All candidates must be over 18.
- assessment: 6-10 hours conducted by an independent RYA examiner.
